Mistake 1: Brushing the dry hair

    The first mistake that many of you made was to brush your hair when it was dry. Brushing your dry curly hair is the worst thing you can ever do. First of all, it causes breakage within your hair, and it also makes your hair a lot more puffy or less manageable, makes it look very damaged. 

    Your hair should either be sopping wet or between 70% or 80% moist, whether it is deep wave hair or curly hair. First, curly hair is the most manageable hair when it is wet. It is easier to brush through, easy to manage, and style. Some people do not like the idea of having to spray down their hair every morning, so curly hair is not for you. Because you have to use water every time you style the curly hair. 

Mistake 2: Brushing the hair from top to bottom

    The second mistake appears more than the first mistake, which is brushing the hair from top to bottom is a big big big no-no. You will rip out so much hair from the root to where you will thin out your wig. So you will be messing up your texture overall, which also does not serve for a good curl definition. 

    The best way is to work your way from the bottom and work your way up, you will eventually get those tangles out, but the process of going from bottom to top will make it a lot easier and a lot more gentle on your hair.

Mistake 3: Not washing hair before wearing

    The third curly hair mistake is not washing or co-washing your hair before you install it or define it for the first time. Washing your curly hair should be the first thing that you do in any initial install. You receive any curly hair wig that is come in a factory setting. Those very uniform curls and ringlets are not the right texture of the hair. 

    If you did not wash and spray your hair when installing the wig. Know that once you wash your hair, your hair will look completely different. Wash the hair in advance so that you can wash off that factory setting, that factory curl, and those factory chemicals so that you can see the true definition and curl pattern.

Mistake 4: Only finger styling

    Only finger combing and finger styling are not enough, so it will be better to use a paddle brush to style your curly hair wig if you want a perfect curl definition. A paddle brush does something for the curls.

Mistake 5: Not using the product

    Only uses water on your curly hair. Now you may think I just said detangle the hair with water and a powder brush. But also, when you want to define and keep your curly hair defined, which is inevitable. You should have some products, such as, curling agent, leave-in conditioner, curling cream, gel, or whatever you like to use. However, the product does not need every day.

Mistake 6: Throwing your hair onto the bonnet

    Throwing your hair into a bonnet is necessary, but it is not the only way to preserve your curly hair to have a good night's rest. It's not just bunching your hair, and it's going to cause the hair to tangle up and matte up because you are rolling, tossing, and turning when sleeping, then your hair will wind around and tend to try to come together, which make it harder for you to detangle and to style your hair. 

    So you can use this way to preserve your curly hair at night. Put your hair either in two pigtails or in four section ponytails, twist them down, or braid them down, and then it's when you can throw them into your bonnet. That will save you time on your styling and also your detangling time in the morning. But remember this method is not for loose curls.
